The
Reverend Dr. Jefferson S. Labala is an ordained elder in the Peninsula
Delaware Conference of the United Methodist Church. He holds the B.Sc.
degree from the University of Liberia, the M.Th. degree from Perkins
School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, and the D.Min. from
Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, D. C. He has been in ministry
for more than twenty-five years, and served in many capacities in the
United Methodist Church, including: academic dean and Professor of
Practical Theology, Gbarnga School of Theology; director of Field
Education and director of lay leadership training, Liberia Annual
Conference of the United Methodist Church; missionary and administrative
consultant and leadership development along with his wife, Dr.
Hilderia-Brumskine Labala in the Nigeria Annual Conference of the United
Methodist Church; Chair, Board of directors, Northeastern Jurisdiction
Local Pastor Licensing School, USA; and director for Strengthening the
Black Church, Peninsula Delaware Conference. He has produced more than
fifty resources for effective leadership and vital congregations,
including the books Leadership Manual for Pastors, A
Guide for Ministerial Candidates: preparing for interview with the Board
of Ordained Ministry. He presently lives with his wife and three
children in Easton, Maryland. |
